5.1 How to connect the HBC 1 base station
1. Connect the headphone cable of the MMX 300 to the headphone socket
base station by using the 1/4" adapter (6.35 mm). Connect the microphone cable of the
MMX 300 headset to the microphone input of your PC or game console. If necessary, use the
supplied extension cable with mini stereo jack plug (3.5 mm).

Important: When connecting the headset please ensure that the volume is turned down to
minimum (i.e. turn the multifunction control

2. Connect a game console, PC sound card, DVD/Blu-ray player or CD player to the S/PDIF input

3. Switch the "Input select" switch µ to the "Optical" or "Coaxial" position, depending on the
S/PDIF input to which the audio source has been connected.
The signal of the selected input is also available at the optical S/PDIF output
routed to other devices.
4. Connect the supplied power supply to the DC socket ¹.
Important:
• Connecting any power supply other than the beyerdynamic device included can
damage the HBC 1 base station.
• If you want to unplug the power supply from the HBC 1 base station, turn off the base
station with the standby button
5. The optical S/PDIF output
