Safety Instructions

This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by
people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a
lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or
have received instruction on how to use the device safely and
have understood the dangers resulting from this.
Children must not play with the device.
Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by child-
ren, unless they are older than 8 years of age and are super-
vised.
Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept
away from the device and the connecting cable.
Warning of hot surfaces! Please keep in mind that the de-
vice and accessories may become hot during use! Only take
hold of the designated buttons and handles of the device!
The device should always be unplugged from the power sup-
ply if it is not supervised, and before assembly, disassembly or
cleaning.
Do not make any modifi cations to the device. Also do not repla-
ce the mains cord yourself. If the device, the mains cord or the
device plug is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer
or customer service or by a similarly qualifi ed person (e.g. quali-
fi ed workshop) to avoid any risks.
The device is not intended to be operated with an external timer
or a separate telecontrol system.
Risks of injury
Keep children and animals away from the device and packaging material. There is a
danger of injury and suffocation!
Only use and store the device out of the reach of children. The mains cord may also
not be accessible for children. They could pull the device down with it.
Keep clothing such as scarves, shawls, ties and long hair away from the device.
During operation of the device, the temperature of the surfaces which can be
touched may be very high. The device is thermally insulated, but high temperatures
are still produced during use in the area of the toasting slots and they may cause
burns. Only ever touch the device on the thermally insulated operating elements.
The device should only be transported when it has cooled down.
Be careful when taking out the bread after toasting in order to prevent burns. If nec-
essary, use kitchen tongs made of plastic or wood to remove the bread
