on any of the mentioned parts, the warranty is valid for
2 years after the date of purchase.
The warranty does not include damages that are
caused by wrong installation or misuse of the insert,
e.g. incorrect draught regulation or use of incorrect
fuel. The warranty does neither include interference
with operations outside the control of Nordpeis, such
as chimney draught etc. There is no compensation for
third party damage or damage to other items caused
by use of the insert.
The inserts have a plaque with the RRF number 29
09 1914. The CE mark is situated on one of the sides
of the insert.
8. Advice on Lighting a Fire
The best way to light a fi re is with the use of fi re
briquettes and split small wood logs that are dry.
Newspapers cause a lot of ashes and the ink is
damaging for the environment. Advertising fl yers,
magazines, milk cartons and similar are not suitable
for lighting a fi re. Good air supply is important at
ignition. When the fl ue is hot the draught increases
and door can be closed.
Warning: NEVER use a lighting fuel such as
petrol, paraffi n, methylated spirits or similar
for lighting a fi re. This could cause injury to
you as well as damaging the product.
Use clean and dry wood. The wood logs should dry
for a minimum of 6 months after being chopped.
Humid wood requires a lot of air for the combustion,
as extra energy/heat is required for drying the humid
wood. The heat effect is therefore minimal. In addition
this creates soot in the chimney with the risk of
creosote and chimney fi re.
Warning: NEVER use impregnated wood,
painted wood, plywood, chipboard, rubbish,
milk cartons, printed material or similar. If any
of these items are used as fuel the warranty is
invalid, as they can release dioxin gasses that
may damage the insert when burnt.
These gasses are also very harmful to you
and the environment.
In order to obtain an optimal combustion, the
temperature needs to reach 600-800ºC. It is
recommended to keep an even fi re with a small
amount of wood. If too many logs are put on the hot
ember, the air supply will not be suffi cient for reaching
the require temperature, and the gases will go out
unburnt. For this reason it is important to increase the
air supply just after adding the logs in order to have
proper fl ames in the burn chamber so that the gases
are burnt. Open the ignition vent control or leave the
door slightly open until the fl ames have a good grip.

Note that too much air supply to the combustion
may create an uncontrollable fl ame that very quickly
will heat up the entire insert to extremely high
temperatures (valid when heating with closed or
almost closed door). For this reason you should never
completely fi ll up the burn chamber with wood.
Use split wood logs rather than whole round pieces of
wood. This will give a better heat effect and cleaner
combustion. It is also an advantage to let the wood
reach room temperature before being used as it will
burn better. The inserts from Nordpeis are intended
for, and only approved for, clean wood combustion.
