4. OPERATION AND ADJUSTMENT
(CONTINUED)
4.7 Braking system
Common sense tips for use of the braking system:
If the distance between the brake shoe and the rim is too large, it can be adjusted by the brake lever or the clamp. If the brake cable
or brake shoes are seriously worn, they should be replaced right away to ensure safe riding. When riding on rainy days, the braking
system will be less effective, so please ensure a longer braking distance and reduce your speed. Do not oil the surface of the brake
disc or the brake shoes so as to avoid serious damage. A damaged brake cable is extremely dangerous and should be replaced right
away, as it is at risk of breaking.
4.8 Speed control system
Designed to be used in combination with physical strength, the speed control system takes into account different terrains and variable
wind conditions. The entire speed control system includes a derailleur, front and back fenders, chain plate, flywheel and shift cables.
The number of speed change series is the number of fluted discs × the number of flywheel pieces. For example: 1 piece of chain plate
× 7 flywheel pieces = 7 speed change series, and so on.
4.8.1 Adjusting the Chain
If the chain is too long, it will skip between gears, which means it is not correctly adjusted, and the chain has therefore not meshed
with the cog correctly, thus affecting the cycling performance; if this occurs, the chain should be adjusted right away. To set the
correct chain tension: adjust the front derailleur to the lowest shift (the smallest tooth of the chain ring) and adjust the back gear to
the lowest shift (the smallest tooth of the flywheel) to check whether the chain slack is more than 15 mm (as shown). If it is more than
15 mm, the chain is too long. Visit your supplier to have the chain shortened to ensure your bike's optimal performance.
Common sense tips for use of speed control system:
Do not reverse while changing speed, as this could lead to component failure and cause the chain to fall off. Try to avoid changing
gears rapidly. You should increase speed gradually by moving up one gear at a time. If the electric bike is idle for a long time, the
chain will switch to the minimum pulley tooth and the smallest flywheel to avoid wearing out the mechanical flexibility. The chain,
fluted disc, flywheel and derailleur should be kept clean and lubricated (oiled appropriately).
4.9 Damping system
Damping can keep the tire buffer in contact with the ground when your bike is running on an uneven road so that the rider feels
more comfortable. Damping hardness can be adjusted by changing the damping coefficient according to road conditions and
personal preference.
Adjustment method of damping as shown: Rotate toward the "+" direction to increase the damping coefficient, thus increasing the
damping hardness; rotate toward the"-"direction to reduce the damping coefficient thus decreasing the damping hardness.
