5.4 Removing the battery
1. Press the release buttons on the battery.
2. Pull the battery out of its holder in the device.

Troubleshooting
Malfunction
LED 1 and LED 2 are
off.
LED 1 lights up
green, LED 2 is off.
LED 1 blinks red,
LED 2 is off.
LED 1 lights up red,
LED 2 is off.

Care and maintenance
WARNING
Electric shock hazard! Attempting care and maintenance with the supply
cord connected to a power outlet can lead to severe injury and burns.
▶ Always unplug the supply cord before carrying out care and maintenance
tasks.
Care
• Carefully remove any dirt that may be adhering to parts.
• Clean the air vents carefully with a dry brush.
• Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use cleaning
agents containing silicone as these may attack the plastic parts.

Possible cause
The charger is defective. ▶ Have the tool repaired
The battery may be de-
fective.
The battery is too hot
or too cold: the battery
doesn't charge.
Charger malfunction.
Action to be taken
by Hilti Service.
▶ Remove the battery
from the charger. If
no LED lights on the
battery after activation
of the state of charge
indicator, the battery
is defective. Have the
battery checked by
Hilti Service.
▶ The charger switches
automatically to
charging mode as
soon as the battery
reaches the required
temperature.
▶ Unplug the appliance
and then plug it back
in. If the LED still
doesn't light, please
bring the charger to
Hilti Service.
