Lubrication
The axle bearings and the bearings for the valve gear should be oiled now and then
with a drop of Märklin oil (7149).
Replacing Light Bulbs
Lamps (front): Pull the lamp holder down and out of the lantern. Replace the light bulb.
Put the lantern back together.
Lamps (rear): Carefully lift the lens out of the lantern housing. Then use a pair of
tweezers to pull the light bulb out of the bulb holder. Now insert a new light bulb.
Finally, put the lantern back together.
Interior Lighting: Use a pair of tweezers to change the light bulb. The light bulb is
mounted on the back wall behind the engineer.
Replacing Traction Tires
• Use a small flat screwdriver to change the track tire: Lift the old traction tire out of
the groove in the driving wheel.
• Carefully push the new traction tire into the groove in the wheel.
• Check to make sure that the traction tire is correctly seated.
