Potential operating errors and how to handle :
(1) Headlights don't operate on digital controlled layouts :
Please verify if headlight operation is enabled. Please note that the decoder detects automatically the
14-, 28- or 128-step DCC operating mode. Nevertheless we recommend to enable (and disable again,
if you want) the headlight function (key »F0« or »light«) every time you change the operating mode
of your engine. If your locomotive (order-n° 59300) must be operated in the Märklin-Digital-operation-
mode please note that the register 53 must be set on »1«.
(2) The locomotive stops and the headlights are blinking:
Standard transformers for analog-layouts may cut off the current if you provoque a very powerful
acceleration. Please avoid a too powerful acceleration and please do avoid any direction change over
at full speed without stop.
Please note: Certain older ROCO power stations operating on variation of the pulse width and
based on a relative high operating impulse frequency may provoque some problems when the de-
coder doesn't correctly detect the power-station-output as analog traction current.
(3) The headlights are blinking in the analog operating mode :
The headlights of the locomotive operates completely constant up from 6,5 V. If the track voltage is
lower than 6,5 V it may occur by technical reasons that headlights may more or less flicker. That's no
operating error.
