Fitting and replacing the wide V-belt
The wide V-belt is fitted by completely opening the mechanically adjustable pulley, putting
the belt into place, and then pulling it over the edge of the spring-loaded variable pulley.
The wide V-belt is removed in reverse order.
1. When the drive is running, the V-belt moves to fit the smallest running diameter of
the spring-loaded variable pulley.
2. Switch off the drive.
3. The mechanically-adjustable pulley is opened when the drive has come to a complete
stop.
4. The V-belt is pulled over the edge of the mechanically-variable pulley.
5. After a few turns of the spring-loaded variable pulley, the wide V-belt can be
removed from this pulley as well.
Stop!
On sizes 31 + 40, a screw, Fig. 3, is used to open the spring-loaded pulley for
fitting the V-belt. Remove the screw after fitting the belt!
Use only original Simplabelt wide section V-belts!
Alignment of the pulleys
The mechanically-adjustable pulley and the spring-loaded variable pulley must be brought
into alignment, i.e. the shafts must be parallel to one another. This is vital to ensure that the
belt will be aligned and that it will be possible to achieve the proper speed adjustment.
Alignment can be carried out with the aid of a straight edge, see Fig. 4.
