Gas requirements

 Use only propane or butane gas.
• The maximum inlet pressure of the gas regulator must not exceed 10 bar.
• A minimum supply pressure of 37 mbar is required.
• The gas pressure regulator and hose to be used must comply with legal
guidelines.
• The hose must be 60 cm long, suitable for propane / butane, meet national
regulations and be provided with a screw coupling.
• The installation must take place in accordance with the legal guidelines for the
storage and use of liquid petroleum gases.
• A dented, rusted or damaged gas bottle can be dangerous and must be checked
by your gas supplier. Never use a gas bottle with a damaged tap.
• Never connect a gas bottle to the patio heater that does not fulfil the regulations!

Check for gas leaks

The connections of the patio heater have been checked for leaks before shipment
from the factory. To exclude the possibility of damage during transport or due to
high pressure, wear, etc., a complete leakage test must always be carried out
during installation, after changing a gas bottle and after a period of storage. All
leakage checks must be carried out with a soap solution, never with fire!
Do not smoke during the checks. In the event of a gas leak (be aware of the odor!)
Immediately close the gas bottle valve and remove the device from other sources
of heat and other sources of ignition.
• Perform the check with a full gas
bottle.
• Turn the control knob to the OFF
position.
• Make a soap solution from one part of
liquid soap and one part of water.
• Apply the soap solution to the entire
system, especially the
connections with a spray bottle, brush
or cloth.
• Open the gas valve on the gas bottle.
If there is a leak, soap bubbles will arise.
• If there is a leak, close the gas valve on the gas bottle. Tighten the leaking part,
open the gas valve on the gas bottle and check again. If bubbles continue to
arise, contact your supplier.
• Make sure there are no fire or sparks in the vicinity when you perform the leak
test and do not smoke!
• If the gas hose shows signs of cracks, cracks or other damage
must be replaced by a new hose of the same length and equivalent quality.
Replace it at least every 3 years. Use spanner no. 17 for this; on the burner side
you need 2 open-ended spanners 17 there. Perform a gas leak check after
replacement.
