2.1

General safety advice

DANGER!
If you believe that the system can no longer be operated safely, the system
must be taken out of service immediately and secured so that it cannot be
used inadvertently.
This is the case if the system or system components:
– show visible damage,
– no longer appear functional,
– has/have had prolonged periods of storage under unfavourable conditions
(perform functional check).
The following regulations must always be observed when handling the
system:
– Any work on the system or system components as well as the operation of
the system may only be carried out by trained and authorised specialist
personnel.
– Before any work takes place on electrical parts, the system must be
disconnected from the power supply and protected against being switched
back on.
– The safety regulations and the prescribed protective clothing must be
complied with when working with chemicals.
– Attention must be paid to the information included on the product data
sheet of the dosing medium used.
– The system must only be operated with the supply and control voltage
specified in the Technical Data section.
2.2

Important Safety information

Read the following safety instructions before using the Smart Dose II Rack.
n The controller unit is operated using a 230 V power supply.
There is a risk of electrical shock if you touch any live components.
n Do not open the controller without first disconnecting the signals and the voltage
supply. Make sure that you have disconnected the device from the electrical voltage at
least 5 minutes before opening the housing.
n The controller must be electrically disconnected in accordance with local ordinances.
n Make sure the surface you use for assembling the device is flat and stable.
Do not place any heavy objects on the housing.
n
n Do not place the following objects or similar items on the housing: Screwdrivers, etc.
or other parts that can shift or roll.
This equipment shall only be operated in accordance with the electrical specifications
n
listed on the rating plate.
n Use only the proper cables.
n No modifications to the system are allowed under any circumstance.
n Please exercise the necessary caution when working with chemicals.
