3. Draw the master finger over the sensor for a third time, wait 3 secs., green LED finally lights
up briefly as confirmation.
The device is now in operating mode (no LED lit). Further master fingers or the first user finger
can now be taught-in.
If a finger is drawn over the sensor during the teach-in process but not accepted as master
finger, the red + green LEDs continue to be lit. The master finger teach-in process must be
repeated.
Not more than 60 seconds should elapse between the three master finger teach-in pro-
cesses, otherwise the procedure must be repeated.

5.4 Teaching-in of additional master fingers

Precondition: The device is in operation setting (no LED is lit).
1. Draw a previously recorded master finger once over the sensor. The programming process
is initiated. The red + green LEDs light up briefly and then go out.
2. Press the keys
E
Please note: Each press of the keys is confirmed by the green LED briefly lighting up.
3. Teach-in one or more master fingers (see 5.3, steps 1-3). The green LED lights up briefly
after each successful master finger teach-in and then goes out again.
4. The teach-in process is complete, when the red + green LEDs flash three times after a
waiting period of 7 seconds as a confirmation.

5.5 Teaching-in user fingers in the Basic mode

Master fingers cannot be taught-in as user fingers; they are not accepted (both LEDs
flash).
It is recommended to teach-in individual user fingers at least six times for an optimum recog-
nition rate. If a finger is difficult to teach-in, it may be necessary to teach-in that finger up
to ten times (the more times the finger is taught-in, the more reliable the recognition), or to
select a different finger as user finger. Not more than 10 seconds should elapse following
the start of the teach-in process with the master finger, otherwise the teach-in process will
be cancelled.
Precondition: The device is in operation setting (no LED is lit).
1. Draw a master finger over the sensor: the red + green LEDs light up briefly.
2. Draw a user finger over the sensor several times (at least six times per finger). Following each
successful recording, the green LED lights up as confirmation.
