3. After the cabling of all components has been completed, the supply voltage can be switched
on. If cabling has been carried out correctly, the red + green LEDs are constantly lit in the
delivery setting (delivery setting = data base is empty, no fingers taught-in).
4. Self-test: To verify that the mounting of the electronic components is correct, an auto-
matic verification mechanism is provided. For this, the device must be in delivery setting
(red + green LEDs are constantly lit). The automatic self-test is started using the infra-red
remote control by pressing the keys
and connections are verified, the inner unit relay is switched and the correct function of the
connected devices (electronic door opener / motor lock) is demonstrated once. Following
a successful self-test (after approx. 10 seconds), the red + green LEDs flash four times and
then remain constantly lit again. Self-testing may be carried out up to seven times in total.
Automatic deactivation of the self-test function
The self-test function is automatically deactivated
• if master or user fingers have already been taught-in.
• if the finger scanner has been under supply voltage for longer than 12 hours.

5. Using the finger scanner

General information:
• Wash hands thoroughly before teaching-in the master and/or user fingers.
• The master finger serves to administer the system and helps to teach-in the user fingers.
Fingers selected as master fingers should be those which will not later serve as user fingers
and which will accordingly not be used for door opening, e. g. not thumb or index finger!
• At least two different master fingers should be taught-in. In total max. three master fingers
may be taught-in (see 5.4).
• For optimum fingerprint recognition, a large area of the finger is required. For this, the fin-
ger should be drawn across the sensor in as flat a position as possible. Draw evenly, only
exerting gentle pressure. The finger position should be as
natural as possible, or should correspond to intended later
usage. If fingers are slim, then the thumb or the index fin-
ger are suitable. At least two different fingers per person
should be taught-in.
