Ensure the replacement bulb is of the correct fitment and carefully screw the new bulb into the holder. Take
care not to over-tighten the bulb. MEDC recommend that the replacement bulb should be suitable for 'rough
service' to ensure maximum life.
Carefully replace the cover assembly back onto the base, avoiding damage to the mating surfaces, and
ensuring the o-ring remains correctly seated in its groove during re-assembly. Fully tighten the 3 off M8
cover screws (6.0mm A/F hexagon key). Ensure the required gap (0.15mm max.) is maintained between
the cover and enclosure.
FL4 - Removing / Replacing Fluorescent Tubes
CAUTION: Before removing the cover assembly, ensure that the power to the unit is isolated.
NOTE: Some units will contain more than one fluorescent tube. It is advised that all the tubes should be
replaced at the same time. Tubes must be replaced with recommended types or compatible equivalents.
Failure to use a compatible tube may cause damage to the unit.
Tube Type: 13W - Osram DULUX D/E, GE BIAX D/E, Philips PL-C 4P or equivalent.
Tube Quantities: 13W unit = 1 X 13W tube
26W unit = 2 x 13W tubes
39W unit = 3 x 13W tubes
Unscrew the 3 off M8 screws (6.0mm A/F hexagon key) holding the cover assembly to the base. The cover
screws are captive and will be retained in the cover assembly.
Twist the cover assembly gently clockwise and anti-clockwise, whilst pulling it away from the base. Remove
to gain access to the interior. The cover will be remain attached to the base by means of a retention chain
Carefully grip the square base of the fluorescent tube and gently pull in an upwards direction until it is free
to be lifted away from the tube holder. Ensure the replacement tube is of the correct fitment. Line up the con-
necting pins on the tube with the holes in the tube holder and push firmly into position. Repeat the proce-
dure for each tube requiring replacement.
Carefully replace the cover assembly back onto the base, avoiding damage to the mating surfaces, and
ensuring the o-ring remains correctly seated in its groove during re-assembly. Fully tighten the 3 off M8
cover screws (6.0mm A/F hexagon key). Ensure the required gap (0.15mm max.) is maintained between
the cover and enclosure
