Testing with the control panel (control panel in normal operating mode)
Press the OFF key on your remote control or enter the OFF command on your keypad. The first
very short BEEP emitted by the telephone dialler indicates that the command has been properly
transmitted. A long BEEP follows to indicate that the telephone dialler and control panel are com-
municating.
If you do not hear this long BEEP, move the telephone dialler until you do.
Testing with the Emergency Call pendant
Pull on the pendant. The telephone dialler responds by issuing a series of short loud BEEP's. This
indicates that the devices are communicating. Close the pendant.
If you hear a continuous low noise, programme your Emergency Call pendant with the person-
alised radio code again.
In order to identify the limits of the area in which the pendant works, perform the test again in dif-
ferent places.

Connecting your telephone dialler

For the telephone dialler to work properly, it must take priority over telephone installation calls: you
must therefore connect it upstream of all telephones.
Important precautions
To ensure correct dialler operation, make sure the telephone line is available under all circumstances
(power cut, increase in number of subscribers, etc.) and supports "data" type transmissions if the sys-
7
tem is connected to a remote monitoring centre. Furthermore, the dial tone may be different for some
telephone operator services and prevent the telephone dialler from picking up the line (for example,
when a message has been received on the operator's messaging system).
Important information in the case of unbundled telephone lines
!
For totally unbundled systems (i.e. no subscription to the national service provider),
installing a telephone dialler is not at all advisable. Whatever the case, the dialler will only
be able to operate in tone dialling mode (not connected to a remote monitoring centre) and
on condition that the unbundled service provider generates signals in compliance with those
of the national service provider (e.g. France Telecom in France).
Warning: if the system has been entirely disconnected from the national service provider, it
may not be possible to use the line during a power cut.
For partially unbundled systems (when there is still a subscription to the national
service provider) the telephone dialler must always be connected to the national service
provider socket and not to that managed by the other operator.
