7) OPERATING THE DREI
SO HOW TO PLAY THIS AMP?
As in any amp the Palmer DREI can be played in two general modes: Clean
and Distorted.
GETTING A CLEAN SOUND:
Turn up at least one power tube
Set the tone to a desired position
Slowly turn up the saturation using the dials NORMAL and TREBLE. As a re-
minder, this controls the amount of level given to the power tubes.
At 3-4 the sound gets slightly crunchy. At 5 you get a nice clear crunchy
sound with touch of clean. The more you crank things up, the more the
power Tubes distort. Below you can find some sample settings to help you
on your way:
