LCD display icons
The undervoltage symbol (
) indicates that the batteries need to be replaced.
The
icon indicates a relative icon (to a zero point).
The
icon indicates that the displayed measurement is fixed.
The inclination symbol (
) indicates that there are two possible orientations for the
measured surface.
a) Inserting/changing the batteries
The angle gauge is powered by two 1.5 V AA batteries. Before using the product for the first
time, insert two 1.5 V batteries (not included).
• To insert the batteries, open the battery compartment (5) on the
back of the product (unscrew the screws with a suitable screwdriver

Operation
The angle gauge is not designed to determine whether a large surface is level. This
should be done using a spirit level.

damage.
b) Measuring angles
• Turn on the angle gauge and place the bottom of the angle gauge on the surface that you
want to measure.
Correct
• Place the angle gauge on a surface (the bottom of the angle gauge contains a magnet that
attaches itself to ferromagnetic metal surfaces).
If the angle gauge is tilted too far from the level position, "Err" will be displayed and
you will not be able to take a measurement.
• The LCD display indicates the angle of inclination of the measurement surface in degrees (°).
The inclination icon (
) and the two arrow symbols ( or ) on the right-hand side of the
inclination icon indicate which side the angle gauge/surface must be tilted towards in order to
make it level. The right-hand side of the angle gauge is the reference edge.
