Safety
General information
• Please read these instructions carefully and retain them
for future reference.
• Use this appliance solely in accordance with these
instructions.
• Use this appliance only for domestic purposes.
• The use of this appliance by children or persons with a
physical, sensorial, mental or motor disability or with a
lack of the necessary knowledge and experience can give
cause to hazards. Persons responsible for their safety
should give explicit instructions or supervise the use of
the appliance.
• Make sure that children do not play with the appliance.
• Have repairs carried out by a qualified service technician.
Never try to repair the appliance yourself.
Heat and electricity
• Verify that the mains voltage is the same as that indicated
on the type plate on the appliance before use.
• Plug the appliance into an earthed wall socket.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket when the
appliance is not in use.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket by pulling
the plug, not the power cord.
• Do not use the appliance if the power cord or the
appliance is damaged. For your safety, return the
appliance to our service department. A damaged power
cord can be replaced solely by our service department,
who have the special tools required for the repair.
• Make sure that the appliance and the power cord do not
come in contact with sources of heat, such as a hot hob
or a naked flame.
• Make sure that the appliance, the power cord and plug do
not come into contact with water.

• Do not pick up the appliance if it falls into water. Remove
the plug from the wall socket immediately. Do not use the
appliance any more.
• Take care when touching the appliance and its parts.
Allow the appliance to cool before touching it. The
appliance and its various parts will become hot during
use.
• The appliance must be able to dissipate its heat to avoid
a risk of fire. Therefore, ensure that there is sufficient
clearance around the appliance and that it cannot come
into contact with flammable materials. The appliance may
not be covered.
During use
• Never use the appliance outdoors.
• Never use the appliance in damp areas.
• Place the appliance on a flat, stable surface where it
cannot fall.
• Never allow the power cord to hang over the edge of the
draining board, worktop or table.
• Make sure that your hands are dry when you touch the
appliance, the power cord or the plug.
• Switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the
wall socket in the event of a malfunction during use,
before cleaning the appliance, before fitting or removing
an accessory and before storing the appliance after use.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
• Never move the appliance when it is switched on or is
still hot. Switch off the appliance and wait until it has
cooled down before moving it.
• Never turn the appliance on when the pot is empty.
• When filling the fondue pot, pay attention to the
maximum and minimum levels indicated by the MIN and
MAX marks in the fondue pot.
• Do not use sharp objects in the pot, such as metal
spatulas, knives and forks. These will damage the non-
stick coating.
