Transmitter Module
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to the installation and keep them for later use.
1 Operating Elements
1 Display to indicate the radio channel and the radio
frequency
2 Transmitting LED TX:
lights up when the transmitter module is switched
on
3 Level LEDs AF LEVEL for the audio input signal:
yellow = minimum level, red = maximum level
(also see chapter 5, operating step 5)
4 Key SET to call the adjusting mode for the radio
channel and to confirm the channel selection
5 Arrow keys
– to adjust the channel in the adjusting mode:
key
for channel selection "upward", key
channel selection "downward"
– to shortly switch over the display (1) to indicate
the radio frequency: as long as the key
kept pressed, the display will indicate the fre-
quency instead of the channel
6 On/off switch and volume control for the audio sig-
nal transmitted
7 Charging LED
(only required for units of the series TXA-800)
8 POWER switch
(only required for units of the series TXA-800)
2 Important Notes
The module corresponds to all required directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
Protect the module against dripping water and
splash water, high air humidity, and heat (admis-
sible ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
No guarantee claims for the module and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the module is used for
other purposes than originally intended, if it is not
correctly connected, operated, or not repaired in an
expert way.
If the module is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.
3 Applications
The transmitter module TXA-802MT serves for retro-
fitting or as a replacement part for the mobile
MONACOR amplifier systems of the series TXA-800.
Furthermore, in connection with the receiving module
TXA-802MR, it is possible to set up an independent
audio radio transmission path.
3.1 Conformity and approval
Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL declare that
the transmitter module TXA-802MT is in accordance
with the basic requirements and the other relevant

regulations of the directive 1995/5/EC. The declara-
tion of conformity can be found in the Internet via the
MONACOR INTERNATIONAL home page:
www.monacor.com
The transmitter module is licence-free and gener-
ally approved for operation in EU and EFTA countries.
Attention! Do not make any modifications on the
trimming controls on the PCB or on the transmitting
antenna (black cable)! The guarantee will expire and
the approval of the transmitter module will no longer
be valid.
4 Installation and Connection
WARNING
Always disconnect the unit into which
the module is to be installed from the
mains voltage before installation. Other-
wise there is an electric shock hazard.
for
TXA-802CD: The module can easily be exchanged as
a replacement part for the module installed.
TXA-800 and TXA-800CD: Remove the power switch
or
is
unit with the LED CHARGE and insert the transmitter
module instead. Connect the 6-pole plug of the mod-
ule to the jack J204 on the PCB with the controls and
jacks. (Seen through the mounting cutout of the unit,
J204 is located on the PCB below on the left at the
rear.) Connect the 7-pole plug of the LED CHARGE (7)
and the switch POWER (8) to the jack J201 (as before
in case of the power switch unit removed).
When installing the module into other units, the CE
directives have to be observed. Make the electrical
connection via the 6-pole plug as follows:

The LED CHARGE (7) and the POWER switch (8) are
not necessary for the operation of the transmitter
module, but they may be connected for other functions
via the 7-pole plug, if required.
5 Operation
1) Leave the transmitter module switched off for the
time being. First set the corresponding receiver or
the receiving module TXA-802MR to a channel
which is interference-free and not in use.
2) Then switch on the transmitter module with the
power switch and the volume control (6). The dis-
play (1) shows the adjusted transmitting channel.
The LED TX (2) lights up and thus indicates that a
radio signal is transmitted.
3) Adjust the transmitter module to the channel selec-
ted at the receiver:
a Press the key SET (4). The channel indication in
the display flashes.

b As long as the channel indication flashes
(approx. 10 seconds), the channel can be se-
lected with the keys
and
nel selection "upward", key
tion "downward".
c Confirm the channel selection with the key SET.
(If the selection is not confirmed with the key
SET within 10 seconds, the unit is switched back
to the channel previously adjusted.)
4) To indicate the transmitting frequency of the ad-
justed channel, keep the key
long as one of the keys is pressed, the display indi-
cates the frequency instead of the channel.
5) The LEDs AF LEVEL (3) indicate the level of the
audio signal which is fed to the transmitter module:
The yellow LED lights up when the input signal
has reached a certain minimum level.
The red LED lights up when the input signal has
reached the maximum level at which it is not yet
overloaded. The LED should not light up or only
shortly light up at signal peaks; if it lights perma-
nently, the signal is overloaded. Then reduce the
volume of the signal source correspondingly.
6) With the control (6) adjust the desired volume for
the transmitted audio signal.
