2.2 Actuator

2.2.1 Applications
Control element for actuating the 3-way DWV reversing valves.
For controllers with a switching output (2/3-point controller).
2.2.2 Project planning and installation
instructions
The EMA DWV actuator is combined with the DWV 3-way rever-
sing valves. The actuator is installed directly on the reversing
valve and held in place with a bayonet connector (fastened by
turning the bayonet ring until it locks, without further adjustment).
The connection of the actuator shaft with the spindle is made au-
tomatically, either by positioning the manual setting to 100% of
the rotation angle or by connecting the voltage. The actuator can
be uninstalled by simply opening the bayonet ring and removing
the actuator.
No tools are required for installing the motor on the reversing
valve.
NOTE
Condensate entry and dripping water etc. along the actuator shaft and
into the actuator must be prevented. It is not permissible to install the
device upside down.
All components of the hydraulic reversing valve must be installed in a dry
and frost-free location.
When the system is initially commissioned, the actuator moves
into position and both devices are connected automatically. No
further adjustments to the settings are required (rotation angle).
NOTE
The correct installation of the reversing valve and the actuator can be
checked on the heat pump manager under special functions - system
control via the menu items * primary side / * secondary side / * domestic
hot water pump / * mixer (depending on the application)!
The 3-way reversing valve is moved into any desired position by
the actuator shaft when voltage is connected via the cable.
The crank handle is fixed to the actuator. To actuate the crank
handle (which has a square end hole for the spindle), the manual
setting button on the actuator must be pushed downwards. The
actuator will not operate until this button is moved back into the
upper position.
NOTE
When insulating the fittings, special care must be taken to ensure that the
flange that holds the actuator is not insulated.
If it is installed outside a building, the actuator must also be protected
from the effects of the weather.

3.1 Hydraulic connection

When installing a reversing valve, it is important to ensure that
the plug is in the correct position. The installation position de-
pends on the purpose for which the reversing valve is being ins-
talled in the system.
The plug can be rotated by 360°, and the flow should ideally ori-
ginate from the side on which the characteristic curve
notch is located.
ATTENTION!
The notch on the locating bolt indicates the position of the reversing
valve. This notch must be observed when installing the actuator!
ATTENTION!
The hydraulic system must be assembled in accordance with [A], [B] and
[AB] shown below. The directional arrows on the cast body may differ
depending on the installation situation.
