Q= quantity of salt to be added in kg
4 = correct salt content
T = measured salt content in the pool
V = volume of the pool in m3.
If the concentration is less than 4g/l, then add
salt.
Always stop the electrolyser before adding any
product.
Wait for the salt to dissolve before turning the
electrolyser on again.
The salt content will be checked annually.
• Tips for using the electrode
The working life of the electrode will depend
upon the following factors :
- Salt content: never operate the electrolyser
with a salt content of below 3.2 g/l.
- Water temperature and hibernation: switch off
when the temperature falls to 15°C.
- Polarity inversion: your device is adjustable
(see 5.1 - First use in "The Chlorine Menu
in detail").
The working life of the electrode will depend
upon the number of inversions to which it is sub-
jected. It will wear out slower by inversing the
polarities every six hours, and faster by inversing
them every two hours.
Encrusted electrode
The electrode must have a clean appearance,
without limescale encrustations. If necessary,
de-scale the electrode by placing it in a solution
containing 80% water and 20% hydrochloric
acid (immerse only the metallic part).
Then check the reasons for the encrustation :
- the pH is too high
- too low salt content
- polarity inversion setting is too long
- electrode worn out
Compatibility
The sterilizer (sodium hypochlorite) produced by
the Selwatch is compatible with most swimming-
pool water treatment products, with the excep-
tion of PHMB polymers and hydrogen peroxide.
In all cases, stop the Selwatch while you add pro-
ducts and until they have been completely dis-
solved.
Hibernation procedure
If the filtration of the pool is maintained during
the winter months, we recommend turning the
device off when the temperature falls below
15°C, removing the electrode from the chamber
and replacing it with the stopper provided for
this purpose.
Disconnect the sampling pipes and put the black
caps in place to avoid any leaks.
Disconnect the reagent packs and engage the
stop clip on the reagent pipe.
Store the pack in a dark place above freezing
point.
Turn on the Selwatch and let the countdown run
until it displays nOr.
Switch off the box and remove the screws on the
front.
Regarding the chlorine, unplug the pipes as ind
cated on the photo below. This action will allow
you to empty the analysis chamber of its water and
reagent, and to empty the pumps.
Proceed in the same way for the pH reagent pump
(the green reagent).
Note: you are advised to procure a BD
2oz/ 60ml syringe (ref 309620) for an
optimum emptying of the reagents. This
syringe will also be useful when restarting
the device (to inject a cleaning solution
before the first analyses). This procedure
does not concern the correctors.
• Close the fronts.
