6. Bring the terminal of the wiring kit with blue/green and grey/blue wires to the left rear lamp.
a) Pull out the 4-P socket from the left rear lamp in t he vehicle and connect with the matching counterpart of the
wiring kit.
b) Insert the remaining socket of the wiring kit into the left rear lamp.
7. Bring the remaining terminal of the wiring kit with the 4-P socket to the right rear lamp.
a) Pull out the 4 -P socket from the right re ar lamp in the vehicle and connect with the matching counterpart of the
wiring kit.
b) Insert the remaining socket of the wiring kit into the right rear lamp.
c) C onnect the brown wires with a proper grounding point (if necessary, attach with a self-tapping screw to a
grounding point in the vehicle.
8. Assembly of the trailer module
Attach the trailer module in a proper location by means of an M6 screw and nut. Connect the 15-P socket to the module.
9. Lead the red wire to the fuse box. Attach the connecting red wire to clamp 30 in the fuse box and connect both sides of
the wires with the fuse base. Note: the voltage is all the time 12V DC voltage.
10. Connecting wires (white/green and white) to the data bus
a) The wire should be installed in vehicles manufactured by September 1997. Connect the 1-P plug of the white
wire with the 1-P socket of the white wire on the right side of the vehicle's boot.
In vehicles manufactured before September 1997, the connecting white/green wire is already available.
Disconnect and insulate the wire.
b) In vehicles manufactured from September 1997, install the connecting white/green wire. Remove the cover
under the compartment in the dashboard. Remove the right cover of the entrance area and the cover of the A
door pillar located in the foot space on the passenger's side. Lead the green/white wire along the vehicle bundle
of conductors in the foot space on the passenger's side. There is a light module near the A door pillar; pull out
the middle plug (54) and release the lock. Insert the white/green wire to empty chamber No. 35. Mount the plug
(54) again and insert it into the light module.
The white wire with a 1-P socket of the wiring kit is not used in vehicles manufactured from September
1997.
Trailer indicator defect is signalled by a control light of the vehicle by increased flashing frequency!!
Fix all the leads with supplied band clips, assemble previously disassembled parts.
Connect accumulator and check all vehicle functions with connected trailer or other suitable testing device.
