The facepiece seal must tightly cover the chin, mouth and nose. The har-
ness must be made taut but not excessively so, since this reduces comfort
in wearing and affects the seal tightness.
•
Move the head sideways and up and down to ensure that the respirator is
securely positioned on the face.

EN
In order to test the tightness of the mask, close the connector with the palm
of one hand or, alternatively, it is possible to carry out the tightness test of the
whole device by placing a piece of polythene (not crumpled) over the filters in
order to close the hole of access of the air. When inhaling, the faceblank of the
mask must be sucked in against the face. No air must be felt passing through
the facepiece seal. If the seal leaks, check that the respirator has been correctly
assembled and positioned and adjust the harness straps if necessary. The tight-
ness test must be carried out 2-3 times. The mask can be used only after che-
cking the tightness of the seal.
9.4
After checking that the seal is tight, the user may enter the polluted environment
and breathe normally. Regard the nature and concentration of pollutants leave
the polluted environment before the filters are used up or immediately after the
following are apprehended:
-
odour or taste of pollutants;
-
excessive increase in respiratory resistance;
-
other breathing difficulties and/or feeling of discomfort;
-
become evident functioning irregularities;
-
you feel a sense of anxiety or dizziness.
If it is necessary to continue the operation, move to an unpolluted environment
and replace the filter with a new, identical one and repeat the tightness test
procedures. While in use, make sure the filter or the half-mask do not knock
against any object which may move the respirator or damage it, affecting its
protective capacity.
