 Place the lid on the container.
 Use the temperature control to set the
desired temperature or to select the cold-
frothing function (COLD).
 Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket.
A beep signal is heard and the main
indicator lamp starts fl ashing.
 Press the On/Off switch.
 A double beep is heard, the indicator lamp
remains on and the motor cooling system
starts up.
 Th e stirring process begins. Once the milk
is suffi ciently hot or the cold-frothing
process is complete, both heating and
stirring processes stop automatically.
 Th e main indicator lamp fl ashes, and a
number of beep signals are heard.
 You can now remove the milk container
from the base. Use a suitable spoon to take
off the milk froth.
 Th e cooling system continues to run for
a brief period. Th e main indicator lamp
stops fl ashing aft er about three minutes.
 Th e power cord can now be disconnected
from the socket.
Remarks
If the appliance has not been disconnected
from the mains , the On/Off switch must be
pressed twice to start a new operating cycle.
Aft er a heating cycle, the appliance cannot
start a new stirring and heating cycle
immediately, but must be allowed to cool
down fi rst.
Aft er a cold-frothing cycle, a new stirring and
heating cycle may be started immediately.
Hint
To achieve a thicker froth, go through a
cold-frothing cycle fi rst, followed by a hot-
frothing cycle.
Making cocoa
Th e appliance is also suitable for preparing
cocoa drinks. Proceed as described in the
section Heating up or frothing milk. Fit the
smooth stirring head and set the temperature
selector to 45°C. As soon as the milk has
been heated to 45°C (as indicated by the
corresponding beep signals), take off the
lid and add the required amount of cocoa
powder. Now set the temperature selector to
65°C and press the On/Off switch again.
To prevent any blockage or congestion, do
not use grated chocolate or chocolate fl akes
when making cocoa.
Interrupting or ending a cycle
Press the On/Off switch to stop the heating
and stirring process: Th e main indicator
lamp starts fl ashing and the motor cooling
system can be heard.
To continue the heating and stirring process,
Press the On/Off switch again.
General Care and Cleaning
 Always remove the plug from the wall
socket and wait until the motor has come
to a complete standstill before cleaning
the appliance.
 To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the base or the power cord with
water and do not immerse them.
 Th e container, stirring heads and lid
should be cleaned aft er each cycle of use
with hot water and a little detergent, or
in a dishwasher. If necessary, the serrated
stirring head may be cleaned with a
suitable brush.
 Wipe all parts thoroughly dry.
 Th e base may be cleaned with a damp
cloth and a little detergent.
 Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
