Maintaining the Light
CRAZING/CLEANING SOLUTIONS: The use of cleaning
solutions, such as strong detergents, solvents, and petroleum
products, can cause crazing (cracking) of the lens. To clean
the lens, use a soft cloth and a solution of water and a mild
detergent.
CRAZING/CHEMICALS: Crazed, cracked, or faded lenses reduce
the light output and the effectiveness of the lighting system.
A lens showing this type of aging must be replaced. Failure to
follow this warning may result in bodily injury or death.
Ordinary cleaning of the plastic lenses can be accomplished by
using mild soap and a soft rag. Should fine scratches or a haze
appear on a lens, they can ordinari ly be removed with a non­
abrasive, high quality, one­step, automotive paste cleaner/wax
and a soft cloth.
