Unpacking
• Verify that the contents are undamaged.
Inform the post office or freight carrier as
well as the supplier of any damage.
• Check that the delivery is complete and
agrees with the shipping documents and
your order.
• Save the original packaging in case the
device must be stored or shipped at a later
time.

Installing in immersion assemblies
Immersion tube CYY 105
The CUS 5
is provided with a G 1''
thread with which it is screwed directly into
the immersion tube CYY 105 :
• Remove the covering cap
immersion tube .
• Pull the connection cable through the
immersion tube
from underneath.
• Screw in the sensor
until it stops.
Note:
Avoid twisting of the cable by first
twisting it in the opposite direction
before screwing on the sensor.
• Replace the covering cap.
• The immersion tube is screwed to the wall
mounting support CYY 106
kit
. A fixing pin and a star handle screw
allow quick mounting and dismounting.
A stationary sensor position is guaranteed.
If you have any questions, consult your
supplier or the Endress+Hauser sales centre
in your area (see back page of these
operating instructions for addresses).
• Position the sensor so that a wall and floor
clearance of at least 15 cm is assured. The
clearance must be greater for light coloured
walls and clear media.
• The level of the medium to be measured
should never drop below the inclined sensor
surface.
• The sensor preferably should be mounted at
locations with a constant medium flow.
• For use in very turbulent locations the
immersion tube must be fixed to two
mountings CYY 106.
• An optimal self-cleaning effect and sufficient
wall clearance is achieved by turning the
inclined surface of the sensor into the
direction of flow.
• The sensor should be checked for soiling
after an appropriate amount of time
following commissioning. If self-cleaning
proves to be insufficient, particularly in the
case of media with a tendency to deposit
on the
sludge films or form crusts, the spray
cleaning unit CUR 4 should be used.

Caution:
The following should be observed
when installing in open channels
and basins:
Caution:
The installation site should be
selected such that changes in the
level or flow conditions does not
result in a wall clearance of less
than 15 cm.
