The appliance and its individual shut-off valve must be
disconnected from the gas supply piping system during any
pressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of 1/2
psi (3.5 kPa). The appliance must be isolated from the gas supply
piping system by closing its individual manual shut-off valve during
any pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at test
pressures equal or less than 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa).
A minimum 1/8" NPT plugged tapping, accessible for test gauge
connection, must be installed immediately upstream of the gas
supply connection to the appliance.
STARTUP
The heater is supplied after a complete functional test and it's
therefore prearranged for one of the gas (natural or L.P.G.)
indicated in Tab. I: an adhesive label applied on the gas selector
valve (13) in Fig 2 ) indicates the working gas (usually
it's natural gas). Should it be necessary to change the kind of
gas (from natural gas to L.P.G or vice-versa) follow the detailed
instructions indicated in section "CHANGING TYPE OF GAS".
Only when the heater has been prearranged according to the
proper working gas it will be possible to carry out the following
operations:
• Leak away some gas from the feed pipe;
• Check that the pipe is gas proof;
• Open the gas stopcock and start the hot air generator;
CHANGING TYPE OF GAS
This operation may be carried out several times during the
working life of the machine and not only at initial startup.
Therefore, first of all check the adhesive label attached to the gas
selector valve in Fig. (2)(a) to establish the original category of the
gas and then consult Tab. I to identify the supply pressure, the
working pressure, the using conditions of manual valve.
To change kind of gas it is necessary (Fig. 4):
Fig. 4
• t o remove the sticker on the gas selector valve stating the gas
used at that time,
• t o remove the screw under the sticker and turn the manual
handle on the correct side according to the condition described
in Tab.I and by following instruction:
• A fter having moved the handle into the opposite position,
put again the fixing screw and a new sticker on it, stating the
gas which has to be used (a number of different stickers are
supplied with the machine)
WARNING
Burner pressure shall not be adjusted: the heater is ready to
run on the new gas
Indirect Fired Construction Heater
Should it be necessary to check the burner pressure:
• Connect a manometer to the pressure port (e) Fig. 2) ,
• C arry out the pressure reading on the manometer and turn the
pressure regulator (c) Fig. 2) if necessary to obtain the correct
burner pressure value indicated in Tab. I
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
SWITCHING ON
• Make sure switch (10) Fig.1) is on "0";
• P ower the heater by means of the selector switch on the
switchboard;
• I f the unit is operated manually turn the switch (10) Fig 1) to
position "I".
• T he burner starts up, the combustion chamber heats up and
then the fan starts;
• I f the unit operates automatically, (being connected to
any thermostat or any other control device) set the room
thermostat at the desired level and turn the control knob
(10) in Fig. 1) to "II": the heater will now start and stop
automatically.
• I f after these operations, the generator does not work, refer to the
TROUBLESHOOTING and find the cause.
TURNING OFF
• I n manual operation push switch (8) Fig. 1) to "0" or turn off
thermostat control in automatic operation.
• A fter switching off the machine, a post ventilation time
is electronically set by a control flame box to lower the
combustion chamber temperature (usually post ventilation lasts
for 90 sec).
VENTILATION
To obtain the ventilation effect switch (12) Fig. 1) on control
panel, select the post-ventilation mode, that is the time the fan
goes on blowing air when unit is switched off:
• w hen switch (12) Fig. 1) is on pos. "0" then post ventilation
lasts for 30 sec.
• w hen switch (12) Fig. 1) is on pos. "I" then post ventilation is
continuous.
TRANSPORT AND HANDLING
The heater can be raised and hung up using the four anchor
holes on the casing.
• S top the machine as indicated in the "Turning OFF" paragraph;
• D isengage the power supply by removing the plug from the
power socket;
• F ully unscrew the fitting connecting the gas hose pipe to the
heater;
• Wait for the heater to cool down.
