Application and function
The steam cleaner allows for a completely new kind of thorough, hygienic cleaning. The
water steam used in this process loosens dirt thoroughly without any cleaning or other
chemical additives. Hot steam cleans thoroughly in a natural way.
The steam boiler brings water to the boil and generates a steam pressure of approx. 380
kPa (3.8 bar). The approx. 140°C hot steam is conveyed through a flexible hose to spe-
cial brushes and nozzles and applied to the surface being treated. A cleaning cloth fitted
to the brush picks up the loosened dirt.
Safety first
The steam cleaners are equipped with a safety valve for automatic reduction of any over-
pressure. When the steam pressure of approx. 380 kPa (3.8 bar) is reached, the heating
is automatically switched off. In addition, if the pressure continues to rise, the safety valve
automatically discharges any overpressure.
If the water has evaporated completely, the dry-running safeguard switches the applian-
ce off automatically.
Steam cleaner DR 88 is equipped with a twin chamber system so that water can be refil-
led without having to stop work. The water is filled into and topped up in the unpressuri-
sed storage tank and pumped automatically into the steam boiler. There is no direct
contact with hot, pressurised water.

The steam cleaner is equipped with standard accessories so that it can be used for many
normal domestic cleaning and ironing tasks, e.g.:
