6.13 Setting the preflexion
Complete the following steps to set the preflexion:
1) Flex the arm.
2) Set the compensation to the minimum level using the dial.
3) Extend the forearm.
INFORMATION: The forearm has to hang down freely.
INFORMATION: The preflexion angle is initially set at about 10°.
4) Secure the strap cam on the extension stop.
5) Flex the forearm until the strap forms a loop.
6) Lock the joint with the cable lock.
7) Loosen the screw on the strap clamp.
8) Shorten or lengthen the strap.
INFORMATION: Lengthening the strap decreases the preflexion. Shortening the strap increases the
preflexion.
INFORMATION: A 3 mm change in the length of the strap changes the flexion angle by about 5°. The
free swing range is changed by the same amount as the flexion angle.
9) Tighten the screw on the strap clamp.
10) Free the strap cam.
INFORMATION: For the flexion aid to function, the strap cam has to be up against the extension stop
when the forearm is extended.
6.14 Fastening the flexion cable
Complete the following steps to fasten the flexion cable:
12K41, 12K42, 12K44, 12K50
