Before First Use
Read all Important Safeguards and below operating instructions before using
this kettle. Discard the first filling of heated water to remove any dust and
residues from the manufacturing process.
Heating Water
1. Remove kettle from the Power Base using the Handle (Fig.1).
2. Grip the Lid Knob and pull upwards to take off the Removable Lid (Fig.1).
3. Fill with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. The kettle has internal
minimum and maximum markings. Never under fill or overfill the kettle (Fig.3).
CAUTION / DANGEROUS: Never fill above the MAX line! If you fill above
the MAX line, hot or boiling water will push out of the Spout or Removable
Lid. This can cause severe injuries and burns. Never fill below the MIN line
initially or replace an empty kettle on the Power Base during Keep Warm.
Always make sure the water level is above MIN marking when the kettle is
warming or heating. Placing an empty kettle onto the Power Base during
heating or keep warm can cause damage to the heating element.
4. Replace the Lid and ensure it is securely locked in place (Fig.1).
5. Place the kettle back on the Power Base.
6. Plug cord into outlet, the ON/OFF button will flash red once and then shut off
(Fig.2). The kettle will beep and the display shows the default settings of
195°F and 4:00 minute countdown (Fig.4). The kettle is now in stand-by mode.
IMPORTANT: The kettle can be set for either Fahrenheit or Celsius
temperature scales. To switch between temperature scales push the
– and + buttons at the same time while the kettle is in stand-by mode (Fig.2).
7. Set the heating temperature by first pushing the Temperature button (Fig.2)
then adjust the temperature in 1° increments using the – or + buttons. The
kettle can be set between 140°F - 212°F or 60°C - 100°C. You can press
and hold either the – or + buttons to advance the temperature more quickly.
8. Once the desired temperature has been set, push the Temperature button
again. If the button is not pushed after 5 seconds the temperature setting on
the display will lock automatically.
NOTE: You may also change the temperature setting after you have started
the heating cycle. Simply push the Temperature button (Fig.2 during the
cycle and the display will switch from the actual temperature to the set
temperature (Fig.4). Using the - / + buttons, change the set temperature
accordingly. Once the desired temperature is reached push the Temperature
button to lock in the setting as the water continues to heat.
9. Once the temperature is set, push the ON/OFF button. There is a short
beep and the ON/OFF button blinks red. The display will show the actual
temperature as the water begins to heat and the ON/OFF button will continue
to blink. The warmer the water becomes the more you will hear the noise of
the water heating up.
10. Once the programmed temperature has been reached the ON/OFF light will
stop blinking and the kettle will beep.
11. Lift the kettle from the base and pour the water carefully.
12. Replace the kettle back onto the Power Base. If the kettle is left idle for over
one minute, the display will transition to sleep mode and turn off.
NOTE: To activate the display, push any button or remove and replace
the kettle from the Power Base.

Réglage de la minuterie
Le temps est important, et que ce soit pour le café filtre ou pour l'infusion du
thé, il est important de surveiller le temps d'extraction afin d'obtenir la meilleure
saveur possible. La bouilloire verseuse a une minuterie à rebours qui peut être
réglée à l'aide de la procédure suivante :
1. Suivez les étapes 1 à 6 de la section « Pour chauffer de l'eau » ci-dessus.
2. Pendant que l'appareil est en mode Attente, enfoncez le bouton de la minuterie
(Fig.2). Un bref bip est émis et l'horloge commence à clignoter sur l'afficheur.
3. Réglez tout d'abord les minutes à l'aide des boutons - / +. Vous pouvez
enfoncer et tenir les boutons – et + pour faire défiler le temps plus rapidement.
4. Une fois le nombre de minutes atteint, enfoncez le bouton de la minuterie
pour passer aux secondes. Utilisez les boutons - / + pour programmer le
nombre désiré de secondes. Finalement, enfoncez le bouton de la minuterie
pour verrouiller l'heure programmée.
5. Enfoncez le bouton de MARCHE/ARRÊT pour démarrer le chauffage de l'eau.
6. Une fois le cycle de chauffage terminé, soulevez la bouilloire de la base électrique.
Pour démarrer la minuterie à rebours, enfoncez le bouton +. La minuterie
décompte alors l'heure programmée jusqu'à ce que le temps soit expiré.
Remarque : Vous pouvez remettre la bouilloire sur la base électrique pour
actionner le réglage Réchaud sans reprogrammer la minuterie. Cela peut être
utile pour l'infusion du café filtre ou de différents types de thé. Vous pouvez
reprogrammer l'horloge manuellement pendant ou immédiatement après le
décompte de la minuterie en enfonçant de nouveau le bouton +.
Infusion du café
L'infusion du café filtre peut être une façon relaxante et amusante de libérer de
nouveaux arômes de votre café favori. En contrôlant précisément la température
et la vitesse d'extraction, vous pouvez goûter un éventail de saveurs plus délicat
et plus complexe. Vous trouverez ci-dessous des conseils d'infusion et des
recommandations de recettes pour une meilleure expérience d'infusion.
Ratio entre le café et l'eau
Il existe plusieurs écoles de pensée quant aux ratios entre le café et l'eau. Le
tableau qui suit utilise le ration 1:17, le plus commun, mais il est fortement
recommandé d'essayer différents ratios selon le type de grains de café et les
préférences personnelles.
