Mounting
• Purge the piping at high pressure before mounting. Use spacers instead of counters for new or updated piping.
• The meter must be installed in the pipe free of stress.
• Flange gaskets must not protrude into the bore of the pipe.
• Ensure that the meter is installed in the pipe with the flow direction indicated on thebody matching the flow direction in the pipe.
Commissioning
• When commissioning and after every emptying procedure, open the valve slowly in order to prevent water hammer. Continuous
overload will lead to damage of the unit.
• The manufacturer's value for Q
• The maximum temperature of the medium should not be exceeded.
Installing the measuring system
• Before installing a new measuring insert, the seal seatings and interior of the housing must be inspected for damage. Used seals are
not be reinstalled.
• Before installation, the O-ring seal and the molded seal on the instrument must be coated with a film of fat (suitable for use in food-
stuffs) before assembly.
• The O-ring seal must be correctly mounted in the seat in the instrument to prevent damage and thus possible leakage. Under no cir-
cumstances must it be mounted in the housing.
• The instrument must be carefully placed inside the housing and pressed firmly into the seal seating. The direction of the arrow on the
cover flange and on the housing must point in the same direction.
• The bolts of the measuring instrument are to be screwed on by hand and then tightened crosswise using a suitable wrench. The
torque for O-ring seals is 40 Nm (M12) or 160 Nm (M16). Using the composite head flange the torque shall not exceed 20 Nm.
• To prevent tampering with the instrument, a bolt should be secured to the housing through a leaded seal.
Notes on safety
• Instruments may only be used for the purpose for which they were intended. An accessory may only be used if it does not affect
its correct function in any way. Aquametro instruments are manufactured according to current standards and directives. Aquametro
guarantees the quality of its products as stated in its general terms and conditions. Liability for correct installation and correct operation
passes to the owner or operator once the goods have been accepted. All installation instructions must be carefully observed.
• The facility must be designed to ensure that the flowmeter cannot be damaged. This applies especially to frost damage, torsion in the
piping, excessive thermal expansion of the piping, installation in leaky piping, the entry of foreign bodies or silting up.
• When installing the flowmeter, the clearances of the piping must be taken into account. With a flanged connection, all connecting ele-
ments are to be tightened and with the torque as specified.
• Observe the permissible operating data as stated on the nameplate. Max. test pressure is 1.5 x nominal pressure PN.
• Check the flowmeters periodically for function and to ensure that the connections are properly tightened.
• Release the pressure in the facility before opening it up.
RUBIN
should not be exceeded for extended periods.
