4 | Installation

4.1 | Preparation

First jack up the motorcycle securely in a well lit place.
As the mirror is designed to be installed on an existing mirror bracket, as shown in the following
diagram for example, your existing mirror must first be removed.
Then check that there is sufficient space for installing the gazzini mirror.
4.2 | Installation
First check which of the three hexagon socket screws supplied (6, 7, 8) M10x1.5, M10x1.25 or
M10x1.25 with left-hand thread (Yamaha, right side) fits in the original mirror bracket, and screw it
into the mirror base. Motorcycles over 125cc from other Japanese manufacturers generally have a
thread with a diameter of 10 mm and a pitch of 1.25 (written: M10x1.25). Newer BMWs with a short
thread tend to have a thread diameter of 10 mm, but a pitch of 1.5 mm. Gazzini mirror adapters are
also included for these.
Fasten the pre-assembled mirror stem (2) and mirror mount (3) with one of the hexagon socket
screws (6, 7, 8) and the washer (5) using a hexagon key (size 8), but do not tighten fully so that it can
still be moved easily.
Then install the mirror housing (1) in one of the 4 holes in the mirror stem (2) using an open-end
wrench (size 8) so that it gives you the best possible view. Apply medium-strength threadlocker
(available separately) to the thread before screwing in.
