Mounting and wiring
The Gateway is connected to a network switch/terminal equipment via
an 8-pole shielded RJ-45 connector, according to the 10/100 Base-T
standard. The cable must at least conform to category 5/5e, be equip-
ped with outer shielding and twisted pair wires (SF/UTP) and must not
exceed a maximum length of 100 m. With direct connection to terminal
equipment using the auto-MDI(X) function of the Gateway, no crossover
cable is required.

Mount the antenna on a metal plate. The metal plate serves as HF
counterweight. Minimum size of metal plate: 250 x 250 mm. Observe
minimum sideways distance to nearest wall or disturbance source:
300 mm. Do not bend or clamp the cable. Minimum bending range of
cable: >25 mm.
Design of wireless range
The radio signal (wireless signal) is attenuated on the way from the
transmitter to the receiver. In addition, the radio signal (wireless sig-
nal) is attenuated/influenced by obstacles. The degree of attenuation
depends on the material of the obstacle.
The following tables serve as a guide.
Penetration of radio signals:

wood, gypsum, glas uncoated
brick stone, press boards
armoured concrete
metal, aluminium lamination, water

The electrical connection may only be carried out by authorised per-
sonnel. The radio receiver must not be used in connection with devices
that may directly or indirectly serve health- or life-saving purposes or
cause hazards by operation to human beings, animals or asset values.
