What You Should Know About the SIM card
SIM card
The SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card is a chip card which is inserted
into a mobile phone and serves to identify the user in the network. Mobile
service providers use it to provide subscribers with mobile phone connec-
tions and data connections.
The SIM card can be protected against unauthorised use by means of a PIN
that can be changed. It is used to assign the mobile phone to a network and
authenticate it.
The SIM is also used for storing data and networks.
