Functional description

Main functions
milliohmmeter
If you leave your tester unused for a period of longer than 60 days, remove the
batteries and store them separately.
All equipment has undergone mechanical and electrical testing prior to
dispatching.
However, we recommend you carry out a rapid check for any deterioration that
may have occurred during transportation. If any deterioration is found,
immediately indicate this in due form to the carrier.
In the case of return of goods, use the original packaging and state the reasons
for return in a note enclosed with the apparatus.
The battery power level is measured at all times: if the batteries need to be
replaced this will be indicated, when the tester is switched on, by a symbol on the
display unit.
Battery replacement procedure:
Disconnect all measurement cables and switch the instrument off (OFF
position).
Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 screws from the battery compartment cover
(on the rear panel of the instrument)
Insert the new batteries: 8 x 1.5 V batteries (AA or equivalent).
Replace the battery compartment cover.
Replace the 2 battery compartment cover screws.
This instrument has 3 fuses:
- one for the power supply circuit
- one for the current circuit
- one for the potential circuit
The power supply circuit fuse is situated in the battery compartment.
To replace it with an equivalent fuse (1.5 A, > 24 V), switch the instrument OFF,
remove the 2 screws from the battery compartment cover (on the rear panel of
the instrument), replace the defective fuse, and close the battery compartment.
The fuses of the current and voltage circuits are located on the printed circuit.
They blow if there is a voltage on the resistance tested.
To replace them, switch the instrument OFF and remove the 4 screws at the
base of the housing (2 at the feet and 2 in the battery compartment). Replace
them with equivalent fuses:
- current circuit fuse: HBC, 1 A, 250 VAC
- potential circuit fuse: HBC, 0.5 A, 250 VAC
To avoid electric shock or damage to your tester, do not allow water to
come into contact with the inside of the tester.
Low resistance measurements: 5 resistance ranges to select from (using
switch): 200.0 mΩ / 2,000 mΩ / 20.00 Ω / 200.0 Ω / 2,000 Ω.
Measurement current from 1 mA to 100 mA and resolution from 100 µΩ to 1 Ω.
Automatic connection check: warning LEDs if Rp and/or Rc are too high and so
circuits not established, or if the measurement range selected is not suitable.
Short (instantaneous) measurements by pressing the TEST-ON button < 2
seconds
Longer (stability) measurements (lasting 60 seconds) by pressing the TEST-ON
button > 3 seconds
At the end of the measurement, the result remains displayed on the display unit
until another measurement is started or the instrument is switched off (OFF
position).
Typical applications: measurement of the winding resistance of motors,
transformers, generators - checking of electrical bonding - checking of contacts -
more generally, checking of links and conduction quality using low resistance
measurements.
