CARE AND CLEANING
1. Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and allow to cool
completely before cleaning.
2. Wash the Carafe and Lid, Filter Basket, Filter Holder, Frothing Nozzle and
Drip Tray in warm soapy water. Rinse in clear water and dry thoroughly.
Never wash any components in a dishwasher.
3. Milk residue will build up on the Steam Nozzle and Steam Tube after
frothing. It is very important to wipe the Steam Nozzle with a damp
cloth after each use. This will prevent clogging and ensure perfect
results. However, if clogging does occur you may pull the Steam Nozzle
off the Steam Tube by pulling downward. Use a paper clip or needle to
loosen any milk remnants in the Nozzle or Tube. Rinse the Frothing
Nozzle under a faucet and replace on the Steam Tube.
4. Wipe the outside of the unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the
appliance in water or in any other liquid. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
Descaling
Over a period of time, minerals and calcium found in water will accumulate
in your Espresso Cappuccino Maker and affect its operation. The appliance
should be cleaned approximately every six months, depending on water
conditions. Use distilled vinegar in the following manner to remove
the mineral deposits.
1. Make sure the appliance is cold and has been disconnected from the wall
outlet and the Control Knob is in the Off position.
2. Unscrew the Boiler Cap.
3. Fill the Carafe to the 4 level mark with white vinegar and pour into the
Boiler.
4. Close the Boiler Cap securely by turning clockwise.
5. Lock the Filter Holder into position.
6. Place the Carafe under the Filter Holder and a cup under the Steam
Nozzle.
7. Plug into the wall outlet.
8. Slide the Control to the Steam position. Allow the vinegar to run out of
the Steam Nozzle for a few seconds then slide the control to the Espresso
position and let the rest of the vinegar flow into the carafe.
