STEADY IMPEDANCE SYSTEMS
This type of connection does not allow limiting the power of each
speaker individually, because it was designed to obtain greater
performance. The main rule to be observed is that the total
impedance of the speakers is equal to or greater than that of the
amplifier. If you use one speaker, pairing takes place instantly, but
if you are using several speakers, the impedance value will be
added or divided according to the type of connection (series or
parallel). As long as you use just a few speakers, it will be easy to
get the 4, 8, 16 Ohms required by ordinary amplifiers, but if you
use more speakers, you will have to use a combined
series/parallel connection to reduce the total impedance of the
loudspeakers to a value that will not be critical for the amplifier.
When carrying out the steady impedance connection, you should
always make sure that the total power of the speakers installed is
greater than that output by the amplifier so as to prevent any
damage due to overload, if the output power is close to the rated
power.
