4 Installing the CO
fertilizer system
2
4.1 Connect the pressure reducer
1
• Close the needle valve by turning in anti-
clockwise direction (if it is not yet closed).
IMPORTANT: Tighten only gently!
• Pull green protective cap off the cylinder
valve.
• Screw pressure reducer hand-tight onto
CO
cylinder without canting by turning slo-
2
wly in clockwise direction.
The cylinder
2
pressure manometer will now indicate
approx. 60 bar (at 20 °C).
Note: You may notice a brief "hiss" when
screwing or unscrewing the pressure redu-
cer, similar to the sound when you open a
bottle of mineral water.
38
3
IMPORTANT: Secure the CO
cylinder to pre-
2
vent it from falling over at all times. The
CO
cylinder must always be in an upright
2
position when supplying CO
!
2
4.2 Connect the CO
solenoid valve
2
("CO
night cut-off valve") with
2
check valve
4
• Screw mounting place tight in the desired
position, with the guideway at the top.
Note: Do not screw the CO
2
valve onto thin wooden panels or similar, as
these may act as a sounding board and
cause humming noises.
• Cut the length of hose required to connect
5
the pressure reducer and the CO
off valve with a strong pair of scissors, ensu-
ring that the cut is straight.
• Unscrew coupling ring from the needle valve
of the pressure reducer and fit to the end of
the hose. Slide hose onto hose connector
(TIP: moisten beforehand - hose will then
6
slide on more easily!) and secure with cou-
pling ring.
4
• Connect the other end of the hose to the
hose connector which is located on the left of
the CO
cut-off valve, as seen from the front.
2
• Slide night cut-off valve into the guideway on
the mounting plate from above.
7
4.3 Connect the bubble counter
• Open the two fastening clips and remove
bubble counter from mounting bracket.
Choose one of the following 3 fastening
options:
(1)To the CO
cylinder by means of a strap.
2
• Insert strap through the two slots on the
8
mounting bracket with the soft side
facing outwards and attach mounting
bracket to CO
cylinder.
2
(2)To the wall b
means of screws.
y
• Remove the suction cups and nipples for
this purpose.
9
(3)To the pane of the aquarium using the
two suction cups.
• Pour tap water into bubble counter until it is
3/4 full.
• Cut off a length of hose to connect the CO
check valve and the bubble counter.
• Connect one end of the hose to the check valve, the other to the hose
connector for connection to the bubble counter tube.
Please note: The
8
arrow on the check valve must always point in the flow direction!
• Cut off a length of hose for the connection between the bubble counter
and Maxi-Flipper and connect to the bubble counter.
• Click bubble counter into place on mounting bracket and close fastening clips.

5.1 Safety instructions for pH-Controller and CO
• For 230 V AC / 50 Hz only.
• Only to be used in rooms subject to normal levels of dirt.
• The mains plug must be accessible at all times after installing the device.
5
• Ensure good cooling at all times, do not cover the device.
• All cables leading out of the aquarium and the mains leads of the employed devices must be provided with a drip loop
6
to prevent any water which may run down the cables from reaching items of equipment or the mains socket outlet.
• Switch off all devices in the aquarium before carrying out maintenance work.
• Should the device's connecting lead be damaged, it is to be replaced by the manufacturer or the latter's after-sales service per-
sonnel only, in order to avoid any dangers.
• Always disconnect all devices located in the water from the power supply before placing your hands in the aquarium water.
• Only genuine CO
pressure-reducing systems such as the Compact, Professional and Exclusive systems from DENNERLE are suitable for combination with a
2
DENNERLE CO
night cut-off valve (solenoid valve) or a pH-Controller. Throttle valves operate at a much higher pressure and thus must not be combined with
2
a solenoid valve or the pH-Controller!
• Note maximum output load for the plug of the pH-Controller (40 W / 0.2 A)
• Keep KCl solution and calibrating solutions out of children's reach.

4.4 Connect CO
Maxi-Flipper
2
• Rinse Maxi-Flipper with warm tap water. Do not use any cleaning agents!
• Fit CO
supply hose to hose connector. TIP: Wet hose connector beforehand - it will then be easier to slide on
2
the hose.
• Choose a point in the aquarium at which good but not excessive movement of the water prevails.
The selected location should not be too exposed to light, in order to prevent algae formation.
• Use the suction cups to secure the Maxi-Flipper in a vertical position at least 5 cm below the water surfa-
ce, with the CO
collector facing upwards. The circulation of the water through the slots of the Maxi-Flipper
2
should not be obstructed by plants to any substantial extent.
4.5 Install and secure the CO
hose
2
• The hose holders enable neat and secure installation of the CO
