Guided Tour - UH6 Handheld Microphone Transmitter
4: Power on-off switch* - Use this to turn the UH6 on or off (to conserve battery power, be sure to
leave it off when not in use).
5: RF power switch - Use this to select the UH6 RF power output. For normal operation, use the
10 mW setting (in this mode, up to 22 channels can be used simultaneously in the same location).
The 1mW setting provides less interference when the system is being used in a confined area and also
allows more channels (up to 96) to be used simultaneously in a single location. For more information,
see the "Samson Low Power Technique" section on page 14 in this manual.
6: Unavailable LED - This LED lights when transmission is impossible using the currently selected
transmitter Group and Channel (as determined by the Group and Channel selectors—see #8 and #9
below). If lit, it is an indication that you must choose a different Group and/or Channel for both the UH6
and the UR6D receiver.
7: Level control (trimpot) - Use the supplied plastic screwdriver to set this to the optimum UH6 output
level. See the "Setting Up and Using the Synth Series 6 System" section on page 10 for more
information.
8: Group selector - Use the supplied plastic screwdriver to set this to the desired transmission
frequency Group.
9: Channel selector - Use the supplied plastic screwdriver to set this to the desired Channel. When two
or more transmitters and receivers are being used in the same location, they should be set up to use
different Channels within the same Group.—see the "Setting Up and Using the Synth Series 6 System"
section on page 10 and Appendix A on page 57 in this manual for more information).
10: Plastic screwdriver - Specially designed for use in setting the Group and Channel selectors
(see #8 and #9 above). See the "Setting Up and Using the Synth Series 6 System" section on page 10
in this manual for more information.
11: Battery holder - Insert two standard AA alkaline batteries here, being sure to observe the plus and
minus polarity markings shown. Load the upper battery (the one nearer to the microphone head) first.
Springs hold the batteries securely in place, so you may need to pull quite hard to remove them.
* Be sure to mute the audio signal at your external mixer or amplifier before turning transmitter power
on or off, or an audible pop may result.
