Microphone Placement
1. To maximize the performance of the speech microphone in noisy areas, position the
microphone very close to your mouth (less than 3 mm or 1/8 inch). (E:1 and E:2)
2. If your headset has a microphone arm stamped with "Talk", the user must ensure the
microphone is turned ¼ turn so that the "Talk" stamp is toward the lips. (E:3)

Switching the Headset On and Off
NOTE: If stored in extremely cold conditions you may need to allow the unit to warm up before use.
Press and hold either [+] or [-] button on the control pad (A:10) for three seconds to switch the
headset on or off.
• A ghost voice message will confirm either "Power-On" or "Power-Off"
• The headset will automatically power off after two hours of inactivity (from the last button press).
Automatic Power off is indicated by a ghost voice message during the last minute before the

Volume Adjustment
Adjust the environmental (ambient) volume level up or down by pressing [+]/[-]. There are four
volume level settings and a silent mode. Silent mode is confirmed by a voice message.
Environmental volume though the speaker is limited to 82 dB(A), unless in Earplug mode.
NOTE: [+] and [-] buttons have different functionality when the headset is in the Menu mode.
Earplug Mode
The earplug mode increases the volume of ambient sound and the external input by about 6 dB.
• It is intended to be used only when a properly fitted earplug is used under the headset.
• To turn earplug mode on, power on the headset, then press and hold the [+] button for
"power off" and after a few more seconds the message "plug mode" is heard. The earplug
mode is turned off by turning the headset off and back on again.
Warning!
earcups, as the increase in audio volume may reach an unsafe level. Failure to wear properly fitted
earplugs while operating in Earplug Mode may result in hearing loss or injury.
Menu Functions
1. Access/Open Menu
To access the menu, press and hold the [+] and [-] button for one second. Press [-] briefly to
step through menu options (see steps 2-8 for menu features). A ghost message confirms each
menu step and changed setting. After a few seconds of no activity, the menu returns to the
volume mode.
2. Equalizer
The equalizer adjusts the frequency response for the level-dependent function (or level of
High, and Extra High. To adjust, navigate to the Equalizer menu, press [+]/[-] button accordingly.
