Product Description
The foam squab is for use with in-built bed
extensions providing an extra 180 mm (7")
for the taller patient.
Intended use
The foam squab comprises a high resilience
polyurethane foam core with a 2-way stretch,
water resistant, vapour permeable cover.
Note: These are guidelines only and should
not replace clinical experience or judgement.
If there is no improvement in the patient's
condition, specialist advice should be sought.
WARNING
The cover of this product is vapour permeable but
not air permeable and may present a suff ocation
risk. It is the responsibility of the care giver to
ensure that the user can use this product safely.
Instructions for Use
1.
Remove all packaging.
2.
ENSURE THAT THE SQUAB IS
FITTED WITH ITS COVER; It provides
a protective barrier which helps to
prolong theproduct life.
3.
Extend the in-built bed extension.
4.
Decide at which end (foot or head) to fi t
the foam squab; if fi tting the squab at the
head end, pull the Mattress toward the
foot end.
5.
Place the squab into the extended space,
ensuring that there are no sharp edges
which may rip the cover.
6.
Ensure that the zip is NOT uppermost.
CAUTION
Do not use the squab without a cover. It provides
a protective barrier against biological contamination
of the foam.
Decontamination
To Clean the Cover
Wipe all exposed surfaces with a cloth which
has been moistened in simple detergent and
water. Ensure to remove any organic debris
that may be adherent to the surfaces.
Dry thoroughly.
Recommended wash temperature: 15 min
at 60°C. Maximum wash temperature: 15 min
at 95°C.Tumble dry at 60°C. Maximum drying
temperature 80°C.
To Disinfect the Cover
For disinfection we recommend a chlorine-
releasing agent such as NaOCI or NaDCC
diluted to 1,000 ppm (range may vary
between 250 & 10,000 ppm depending
on contamination status and local policy).
Wipe with a cloth moistened with clean water
and dry thoroughly.
Alternatively, use a cloth moistened with
alcohol (70%) all allow to air dry.
Routine checks
The foam core and cover should be inspected
regularly for any signs of damage, soiling or
staining.
