Safety regulations to be observed when carrying out maintenance on live machines
The regulations under item 4 shall apply together with the following:
Personnel must never work alone.
Use one hand only whenever possible when carrying out maintenance work.
Check the instruments and the conductor wires regularly.
Only follow authorized procedures when bypassing interlocks.
Prior to beginning any maintenance operations, ensure that the staff assigned to the work is familiar with the machine components and the
maintenance procedures.
Wear insulating protective gloves.
Prior to measuring resistance values, open all contacts feeding power to the machine.
Ensure that no high voltage exists in the low-voltage lines.
Do not use magnetic tools in the proximity of magnetic fields.
Safety regulations to be observed when carrying out maintenance work
The system must always be switched off unless continuous operation is required.
Prior to carrying out electrical maintenance work:
Ensure that the maintenance technician does not carry any objects with him that could act as an electrical conductor.
Inspect the working area to ensure that the floor is clean and dry.
Check the tools to make sure that they are suitable for the work to be performed and in a proper condition to ensure safety during maintenance.
Ensure that the measuring instruments are calibrated on a regular basis.
Prior to beginning any maintenance work, check the procedures to be followed, which includes control and verification of the wiring diagram.
Fire Hazards
There is no immediate risk.
In the event of a fire, the refrigerant will produce toxic and caustic vapors. Due to the relatively low amount of coolant gas in the air conditioner, this risk can
be prevented by placing the machine in sufficiently ventilated rooms.
Toxic substances
The refrigerant contained in this unit is environmentally friendly and is called R34a (tetrafluoroethane). The amount is small and the cooling circuit is
completely closed. Tightness of the circuit is checked during the acceptance tests and any leaks greater than 15 mm per year must be removed. The
manufacturer of the refrigerant declares that gas concentrations less than 1/1,000 are harmless.
In the event that the machine is installed in a room which is not sufficiently ventilated or large enough and a rapid leakage of cooling gas is evident, the
operators should leave and the room should be ventilated.
Danger of impact, crushing and falling
Uncontrolled movements
Inadequate anchoring
Inadequate support

18. Disposal of the machine

cAuTION: Dismantling of the machine may only be carried out by experienced and skilled personnel.
Before dismantling the air conditioner, disconnect it from the voltage supply.
The machine must be disposed of by authorized bodies only.
häwa GmbH has equipment designed to recover the fluids inside the cooling circuit and the disposal and recovery of the product components.
Awaiting disposal, the air conditioner must be stored in a location protected against weather influences.
The following is a summary of instructions for the proper disposal of the machine over its entire service life.
Once the different materials have been separated, as described below, they must be assigned the appropriate EWC code before being disposed of in
accordance with national legislation.
Waste disposal relating to the machine occurs in three different stages:
1.
Disposal of the packaging materials used to ship the machine
2.
Disposal of the substances or component replaced during ordinary or extraordinary maintenance
3.
Disposal of the air conditioner at the end of its service life
To ensure proper and safe disposal, the operator must wear the necessary PPE including anti-cut gloves, oil-resistant gloves, heat-resistant gloves, safety
footwear, safety eyewear for protection against liquid and gas splashes.
The context in which the air conditioner is installed may require further PPE. Therefore, it is mandatory to liaise with the responsible line manager prior to
beginning work.

Disposal of the packaging

The packaging of the air conditioner must be disposed of ensuring separation of the following materials:
Paper and cardboard
Wooden packages – those packages are normally not chemically treated unless declared as "fumigated".
Plastic pallet – high-density polyethylene HDPE
Plastic film – polyethylene PE
Polystyrene –polystyrene foam EPS 6
