3. Operating principle
The häwa GmbH air conditioners are designed to cool electric cabinets with protection class IP54 and are suitable for operation in an industrial environment.
Their use:
•
allows problems caused by high temperatures inside the cabinet to be remedied
•
prevents ambient dirt and dust from penetrating the cabinet.
The unit consists of two hermetically sealed sections so that the ambient air and the air inside the cabinet circulate separately without mixing. Heat transfer is
ensured by sending a refrigerant through a closed cooling circuit.
The compressor (MT1) compresses the coolant gas taking it to a high pressure and a high temperature.
The heated gas passes through the condenser (C), is cooled down and liquefied. The heat that has developed is released into the ambient air.
The cooling power is controlled via the capillary tube or the thermostatic valve.
By means of the evaporator (E), the refrigerant passes again from a liquid to a gaseous state removing the warm air from the cabinet.
Safety precautions
The air conditioners of the 3122- series have been designed for wall mounting and operation in a vertical position. With these models, the compressor must
always remain in a vertical position. The air conditioners must not be used or transported in any other position.
If the machine was lying or if the compressor was in a horizontal (or tilted) position, it is necessary to wait one hour before switching the device on.
Should there be traces of oil visible inside or outside of the enclosure, which may indicate refrigerant leakage, under no circumstances may the unit be
started. In such case, the häwa GmbH customer service must be informed without delay.
The unit must not be put into service if leaking refrigerant has been detected.
4. Safety instructions
Installation and operation of air conditioners must be carried out by skilled personnel, as the system is under pressure and includes movable parts and
electrical components. Therefore, repair, inspection and maintenance work on an air conditioner may only be performed by skilled personnel.
Unskilled staff may only exchange the filter (if applicable). All other operations must be carried out by experienced staff instructed in the maintenance of air
conditioners.
For all operations on the machine, follow the instructions in this manual, check with the data on the type plate and take all other measures required to ensure
maximum safety.
