GENERAL SAFETY RULES

INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS.
WARNING: When using tools, basic precautions should always be followed, including
the following.
WARNING: This product or its power cord may contain chemicals known to cause cancer and
birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

WORK AREA

1.
Keep the work area clean and well lighted. Cluttered benches and dark areas increase
the risks of accidents.
2.
Do not operate the tool in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases, or dust. The tool creates a spark which may ignite
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
3.
Keep bystanders, children, and others away while operating the tool. Distractions
could result in improper use and cause injury.
4.
Avoid unintentional misfires. Always use caution to avoid accidentally firing. Do not
point towards yourself or anyone whether it contains fasteners or not.

PERSONAL SAFETY

1.
Do not nail on top of another nail. This is able to cause the nail to be deflected and hit
someone, or cause the tool to react and result in a risk of injury to persons.
2.
Remove finger from the trigger when not driving fasteners. Never carry the tool with
finger on trigger, the tool is able to fire a fastener.
3.
Always wear eye protection. Operator and others in the work area should always
wear ANSI-approved safety goggles with side shields. Eye protection is used to guard
against flying fasteners and debris, which may cause severe eye injury.
4.
Always wear hearing protection when using the tool. Prolonged exposure to high
intensity noise may cause hearing loss.
5.
Use safety equipment. A dust mask, non-skid safety shoes and a hard hat must be
used for the applicable conditions. Wear a full face shield if you are producing metal
filings or wood chips.
6.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your
hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair
can be caught in moving parts.
7.
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating
a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol,
or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the tool may cause
serious injury.
8.
Avoid unintentional firing. Keep fingers away from trigger when not driving fasteners,
especially when connecting the tool to the air supply.
9.
Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enables
better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
10. Do not use on a ladder or unstable supports. Stable footing on a solid surface enables
better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
