2 Safety instructions
This section gives important notices for safe use of the product. These notices are to protect employees and to ensure
safe, fault-free operation. Warnings relating to use can be found in the corresponding instructions for use.
The product is built in accordance with the state of the art and the recognised technical rules.
DENIOS guarantees electrical conductivity in accordance with the standards for the product at the time of delivery.
There may be hazards associated with the product if it is used, maintained or repaired in an incorrect manner, not in ac-
cordance with the intended use or by untrained personnel.
Hazards may arise affecting:

Follow all the safety instructions in these operating instructions as well as all safety instructions in the operating instruc-
tions of our suppliers which have been provided.
All employees who are to work with this product must confirm by signature that they have read and understood these op-
erating instructions completely.
Observe the following safety instructions for use in Ex zones:
During the handling, storage and dispensing of substances which can create an explosive atmosphere, the require-

ments of ATEX Directive 1999/92/EC must be observed. Depending on each Ex zone, you must take measures to pre-
vent the ignition of an explosive atmosphere in each individual case.
Use suitable techniques to avoid sources of thermal ignition, for example friction, lightning, open flames, open lights

and smoking.
Avoid mechanically produced sparks by using suitable tooling, suitable transport and loading equipment.

Avoid exceeding the permitted electrical conductivity values which are set out in the standards. These values can
g
change depending on the depositing of hindering substances and also by chemical and mechanical influences. In
particular, dust, dirt, paint, acids and alkalis can reduce or completely prevent the conduction of electrical/electro-
static energy to the floor.
2.1 Intended use
Only use the product when it is not damaged.
Only use the product in line with the manufacturer's instructions and mandatory legal regulations.
Any form of use which exceeds the legally compliant use is considered not in accordance with the intended use.

Misuse

CAUTION! Unsuitable drums can be damaged by the Secu Ex . Leaks may be caused.
CAUTION! Dents or bulges, especially near the rim of the drum, may cause the drum to slip
off the Secu Ex .
