10.2 Information on switching the pump on and
off
Switching on the pump
The pump must not be started up against operating pres-
sure during switch-on. This also applies during operation
after a brief power failure. If a pump starts up against
pressure, the pump may block, thereby activating block-
ing protection (drive) and switching off the pump.
à
Ensure that no pressure is present in the lines when
switching on.
à
Switch on the pump with the power switch (see Fig. 6).
à
Switch on the pump by pushing the rotary/push knob (see
Fig. 7).
Setting the flow rate
The pump speed can be varied with the rotary/push knob.
The flow rate can be set in this way (see Fig. 8).
à
The speed setting of the rotary/push knob is retained
when the pump is switched off.
Switching off/decommissioning the pump
à
When transferring aggressive media, flush the pump be-
fore switching off to extend the service life of the di-
aphragm (see Chapter 11 Servicing).
à
Switch off the pump with the rotary/push knob (see Infor-
mation on switching the pump on and off).
à
Switch off the pump with the power switch (see Fig. 3/5).
à
Establish normal atmospheric pressure in the lines (re-
lieve pump pneumatically).
à
Pull out power plug of the pump.
