To clean the safety valve
Clean the base of the safety valve inside the lid.

Check that it is working correctly by pressing lightly

Storage of your Pressure Cooker
Turn the lid upside down on the pan - Fig 17

Make sure your Pressure Cooker is in a stable position.
To ensure that your Pressure Cooker lasts as long
as possible
Avoid over-heating the pan when empty.

Darkening and lines which may appear after long
I
use do not matter.
If the inside of your pan shows iridescent or white
I
marks (scale), clean it with vinegar or with a special
cleaning product for stainless steel.
Safety
Your pressure cooker is equipped with several safety devices, 2 of which are for overpressure:
First device: the safety valve releases the pressure and steam escapes from under the clamp - Fig 20a

Second device: steam flows from between the lid and the pot - Fig 20b

If one safety system is activated:
Turn the heat source off.
I
Let the pressure cooker cool down.
I
Open it.
I
Check the steam outlet, the pressure regulator valve, the safety valve and the gasket.

Recommendations for use
1 - Make sure the steam outlet is not directed
towards yourself.
2 - Supervise carefully if using the Pressure
Cooker with children around.
3 - A little steam may escape from the safety valve:
this is normal.
4 - When releasing steam be careful of the hot jet
of steam.
5 - To move the Pressure Cooker, only use the
handles.
To clean your Pressure Cooker if it has darkened
Clean the pan with a special stainless steel cleaner

sold in your TEFAL Approved Service Centre.
To change the gasket
Make sure that you buy the correct gasket for your

model.
Soak it in soapy water for a few seconds, then put it
I
in position, beginning with the two ends - Fig 18
Put the gasket in place using your two hands at the
I
same time - Fig 19
Complete the installation of the gasket by putting the
lid on the Pressure Cooker.
Close the lid by turning the tightening knob (at least
two full rotations).
Never shorten the gasket.

6 - Do not leave food in the Pressure Cooker.
7 - Never use bleach or chlorine products for
cleaning.
8 - Never immerse the lid in water. Do not put the
lid in the dishwasher.
9 - Do not use a sharp or pointed object for
cleaning valves.
10 - After 10 years use, it is advisable to have your
Pressure Cooker checked by a TEFAL Approved
Service Centre.
