Cleaning and care
The high-quality surface of your NovoPorta
Premio door requires regular cleaning and
care. Such work can prevent the appear-
ance of undesirable corrosive effects that
may be caused by environmental condi-
tions.
The surfaces and components may be dam-
GB
aged by corrosive, aggressive or abrasive
materials. For care use only conventional
cleaning agents and soft cloths or rags –
pay attention to the manufacturers' instruc-
tions.
Window panes should generally be cleaned
with plenty of clean water and a cloth or
sponge entirely free from grit or any other
debris. Conventional spray cleaners may
also be used. Oils and sealant residues
should be removed with non-aggressive
solvents such as white spirit, isopropanol
and similar.
Replace cleaning implements and liquids
frequently to prevent dirt, dust and sand
washed off the glass surfaces getting back
on and causing scratching.
Cleaning with abrasive, scouring agents
such as fine steel wool (with granulation of
00), razor blades applied flat on the glass
and similar is also permitted for particular
cases of staining. However, the use of such
tools for cleaning of entire glass surfaces
(scraping, or scratching off stains with
blades or "glass planes") is not permitted.
Paint, cement residues and similar materi-
als should be removed from glass surfaces
immediately before drying.
The fittings can be polished back to their
original sheen with a suitable cleaning
agent (where any rust bloom should ap-
pear).
Use only oil / grease that is recommended
by the manufacturer, environmentally
friendly and harmless to health for the
lubrication of door fittings / hinges.

The following information on exterior doors
according to product standard EN 14351-1:
2006 + A2: 2016 should be observed care-
fully. Any failure to observe the notes and
usage information contained in this docu-
ment may lead to the exclusion of any
liability (e.g. guarantee).
1. Product information and
appropriate usage
Exterior doors are designed to isolate
the climates between exterior and inte-
rior spaces by covering a wall opening,
and to allow people to pass. By pressing
a handle or door lock, a user can move
the exterior door into its open position.
Exterior doors made of the appropriate
combinations of materials are installed
vertically. When closing them it may be
that the counterforce of a seal may
need to be overcome. Usages involving
a need for closing forces deviating from
these values (e.g. the introduction of
cables) do not constitute appropriate
usage. Unlocked exterior doors do not
fulfil any requirements in relation to air
or precipitation permeability, noise
reduction or heat insulation.
2. Inappropriate usage
Inappropriate usage – in other words,
failure to use the product appropriate-
ly – will include the following cases, for
example:
– Where obstacles are inserted into the
door's opening space, thus impeding
appropriate usage.
– In the case of exterior doors with
panic and escape door equipment
(EN 179 / EN 1125) the escape door
function can only be guaranteed with
the key removed.
– Where exterior doors or door leaves
are pushed against jambs inappro-
priately or in an uncontrolled manner
(e.g. by wind) in such a way that the
door's hinges, locks, frame materials
or other individual parts of the exteri-
or door are damaged or destroyed, or
so that indirect damage may be
caused.
– Where additional loads inappropriate
for the product are imposed on the
exterior door or door leaf.
– Where anyone should reach into the
recess between the closed frame and
the door leaf (which will generate a
danger of injury).
Please keep these assembly, operating and maintenance instructions as long as you use the product!
3. Cleaning instructions
All accessible parts of the exterior door
either on the inside or outside (includ-
ing in the recess area) should be
cleaned. The cleaning materials must
be suitable for the relevant materials.
Their suitability should be checked be-
fore beginning work. Neither the sur-
face of parts nor their protective layer
against corrosion should be damaged
by cleaning. For cleaning, wetting agent
solutions with a pH value of between 5
and 8 should be used. Acids and alkalis
(e.g. materials outside pH values of be-
tween 5 and 8) and coarse cleaning
agents (e.g. abrasives, steel wool,
scouring sponges, razors) and cleaners
containing solvents (e.g. thinners, pet-
rol) are unsuitable, and may cause ir-
reparable damage. In case of doubt
please ask the manufacturer about the
suitability of the cleaning agent.
4. Maintenance and care
Note: Only original replacement parts
should be used as a substitute for dam-
aged or malfunctioning parts (fittings,
accessories, seals, glass, etc.).
Proper and regular upkeep (mainte-
nance, care, inspection, repair and
improvement) of the product is the
responsibility of the operator. Proper
upkeep is not part of the contractual
performance or guarantee given by the
manufacturer. However, regional build-
ing codes oblige the operator to ensure
the proper upkeep of the product, so
that public safety and order, in particu-
lar in relation to life, health and protec-
tion of the natural environment, is not
endangered. For this reason, mainte-
nance instructions should be passed
onto the final customer on product
delivery.
In order to ensure the sustained func-
tioning of the door element, the good
functioning of all installed components
must be checked through regular ser-
vicing. Servicing tasks should be carried
out by suitably skilled persons / special-
ist companies. This applies in particular
for the inspection and adjustment work
on door hinges and locks and the re-
placement of pars and demounting and
rehanging of door leaves.
