Switching off:
Testing new discs
Allow the machine to run with the new disc for one minute at full speed under
no load. If the disc causes vibration, it must not be used.
Operation
Clamp the workpiece securely unless its own weight is sufficient to keep
it steady.
Do not stall the machine by applying excessive pressure or load to the disc.
Rough grinding
When using rigid grinding discs, best results are obtained when the disc is held
at angle of 15° – 40° to the workpiece. Apply moderate pressure and move the
machine backwards and forwards. This prevents the workpiece from overheat-
ing and becoming discoloured, and ensures that the surface is finished evenly,
without grooves.
Never use cutting discs for grinding.
Fan-type grinding discs
Curved surfaces and outlines (contour grinding) can be ground using fan-type
grinding discs.
Fan-type grinding discs have a considerably longer life, produce less noise and
do not run as hot as conventional flexible grinding discs.
Always disconnect the plug from the mains socket before carrying out any
work on the machine!
The gear housing can be rotated in increments of 90°. This permits the ON/OFF
switch 2 to be brought into the most suitable position for specific applications,
or for use by left-handed operators.
Remove the four screws 16.
Rotate the gear housing into the new position carefully.
Do not pull it away from the motor housing.
Reinsert the screws and tighten them securely.
