Sport tires
Your MINI John Cooper Works GP is equipped
with sport tires. The dry grip has been increased
significantly relative to conventional street tires.
This results in the following limitations:
Depending on your driving style, higher tire
wear will result in shorter mileages before the
minimum tread depth is reached.
Set the inflation pressure according to the
pressure indications on the door pillar of
the driver's door. If you fail to observe this pre-
caution you may be driving on tires with incor-
rect tire pressures, a condition that can not only
compromise your vehicle's driving stability, but
also lead to tire damage and the risk of an acci-
dent.<

Because of the special tire tread, there is
an increased risk of hydroplaning on wet
roads. When driving on wet or slushy roads,
reduce road speed. If you do not, a wedge of
water can form between tires and road surface.
This state is also known as hydroplaning and can
result in a loss of control over the vehicle and a
loss of braking power.
The tire grip decreases significantly at low out-
side temperatures and tire operating tempera-
tures, which my lead to loss of control of the
vehicle. At outside temperatures of less than
+457/+76, change to winter tires. Inform
other people who use the vehicle in addition to
you of these
limitations.<
