(If the heater has not been used for a long period of time, carry out the following before
using the heater.)
• Make sure that the air vent hole in the fuel tank cap is clean. If the hole is plugged it causes the flame to extinguish dur-
ing operation.
★ Cleaning the air vent hole
Insert a pin, etc., into the air vent hole to re-
move dirt.

3-1. Preparation for the Operation

■ Refueling
DANGER
CAUTION
• Make sure only kerosene or Fuel-Oil no heavier than No.2 (Diesel). Never use poor quality or foul kerosene, to have no
troubles at all.
• Never refuel the heater if the tank inlet filter is out of place. Dust or dirt can enter the tank resulting in abnormal com-
bustion or damage.
Remove the fuel cap and insert a handy

suction pump into the fuel tank.
Watch the fuel gauge while refueling.

When the gauge reaches the maximum
level, stop refueling.

Observations
• Never use highly volatile fuels such as gasoline, etc, to avoid fire.
• Always make sure the flame is completely extinguished before refueling the heater.
Refueling while the heater is in operation can result in fire.
• Never put more fuel in the tank than the maximum level indicated by the fuel gauge.
Fuel can spill out of the tank resulting in fire.
• If you get fuel on your skin, use soap, etc., to wash it off as soon as possible. Fuel can
cause inflammation of the skin.
